Our Motto is “ONE FOR ALL AND ALL FOR ONE”

They are always welcome to attend any Table meeting or special event, and their names are included in the Yearbook. Contributing members pay dues and support fundraisers but they do not participate in meetings.
The Duties of Active Members:
– Pay annual Tables dues of $45.00.
– Attend monthly meetings on a regular basis.
– Assist in the coordination of organization projects.
– Be willing to volunteer and serve in either elected or appointed positions.
– Abide by our Table Constitution and by the Alliance Constitution By-Laws.
– Maintain Pan American spirit and friendliness towards other members.
– Respect punctuality at all times and responds to messages from Table Officers.
– Attend fund-raisers and if unable to do so, give your contribution to the Treasurer.
– Be willing to host and co-host monthly meetings.
– We are all volunteers and our Table is not a social club. We gather to work towards a common goal that supports our mission, and in the process, we do establish lasting friendships.
PROJECTS, PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
We meet every second Thursday of the month, September through June at member’s homes.
At that time, we hold a general business meeting, a luncheon, and enlightening programs.
Our activities are mostly geared towards planning our fundraisers, our Christmas and Pan American Day celebrations, our June potluck luncheon and keeping in touch with fellow members from the San Francisco and Contra Costa Tables. We also welcome Alliance guests that come to visit us from other States and countries.
Our regular meetings follow protocol and guidelines. After our business meeting we also take the time to reconnect and enjoy our wonderful friendships.
Members take turns in Hosting meetings in their homes and being co-hostesses.
Our members come from the USA, Spain and from all of the Americas. Each and every one of our members contributes a rich culture of diversity. They each have a wealth of talent, and we are proud to share a poem, authored by one of our members, Frances Roberts, originally from the State of Georgia.
Fran Roberts has been a member of the Los Gatos-Saratoga Table the longest. She is the personification of a “Southern Belle”, and through the years has been a most valuable member. She has been Table Director three times and was Table Delegate at two Alliance Conventions: Albuquerque, N.M. in 1974 and Cancún, Mexico in 1986. Francis Roberts’s poem, “Migration”, can be found in her book – Flame from the Rock by Frances Roberts.
I come from a long line of restless women,
their hair knotted with needles of glass,
Unable to gauge the merits of stability.
A long line of projected blame,
The giving and taking of too much prayer,
Commas of indecision.
Until weary of lace and the scent of gardenias,
they rise up in darkness, take old simplicities,
bare them for reading.
Groping along forbidden streets,
they ignore the last time for turning.
Lifting their arms to half-sealed light,
They feather their bodies, grow wings.
A scarlet prototype.
Stray birds lost from the coastal route,
They begin their flight to the sea.
